Is Autocoder Safe?

Will Zoom or Google Meet show the Autocoder overlay during a screen share?

No. Meeting apps do not photograph your monitor. They ask the OS graphics compositor for a copy of each window, and the Autocoder window carries the display exclusion flag, so the compositor leaves it out of every shared or recorded frame.

Does Autocoder inject scripts into Chrome or test portals?

No. It is a detached desktop window, not a browser extension. It reads nothing on its own. It only processes the region you capture when you press the hotkey, and it never modifies the test page.

How does audio listening work?

When you enable live listening, Autocoder transcribes your system speaker audio through a virtual loopback, which is how it hears the interviewer. Your microphone line is never modified, rerouted, or recorded beyond producing the transcript.

What exactly is the display exclusion flag?

On Windows it is WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE, a per-window attribute passed to SetWindowDisplayAffinity. The desktop compositor honours it when any application asks for screen pixels, which is the same path Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, OBS and the Windows Game Bar all use. Because the exclusion happens in the compositor rather than in Autocoder, the overlay is absent from the frame before the capturing application ever receives it. Support depends on your Windows build and graphics driver, so record a test call once on the machine you will actually interview on.

What does Autocoder NOT protect against?

Anything that does not read the screen through the compositor. A second camera pointed at your monitor, a phone recording the room, a proctored room scan, or an invigilator standing behind you all see what your eyes see. Managed corporate devices with endpoint monitoring agents can enumerate running processes regardless of what is drawn on screen, and browser-lockdown assessments that take over the machine are a different mechanism entirely. Autocoder makes no claim of undetectability across every monitoring configuration, and you should not treat it as one.

Does Autocoder need administrator rights?

No. It installs and runs under your normal user account on Windows 11. It does not install a kernel driver, a system service, or a browser extension, and it does not require you to disable antivirus, Secure Boot, or any Windows security feature. If something asks you to do any of that in order to run Autocoder, it is not Autocoder.

What happens to my payment details?

Payments are processed by Razorpay. Card numbers, UPI PINs and net-banking credentials are entered on Razorpay's own checkout and never reach Autocoder's servers or the desktop app. We store the plan you bought, when it expires, and the device count attached to it.

Can I verify these claims myself?

Yes, and you should. Start a solo Google Meet or Zoom call, share your whole screen, and record it. Play the recording back: the overlay should be absent while everything behind it is present. That test takes two minutes and tells you more about your specific hardware than any claim on this page.

What happens to my data?

Captures and transcripts travel over encrypted connections and are used only to generate your answer within your session. No browsing history is collected, because there is no extension watching your tabs.

A screenshot you capture is sent for inference and is not retained as a stored image afterwards. Voice transcripts exist for the duration of the session that produced them. What we do keep is ordinary account data: your email address, the plan you purchased and its expiry, your remaining voice-minute balance, and the number of devices activated against your licence. You can request deletion of that account data by writing to contact.autocoder@gmail.com.

Where the app runs, and where it does not

Autocoder is a Windows 11 desktop application. There is no macOS build, no Linux build, no mobile app and no web version — if you find something claiming to be one of those, it is not ours. The overlay draws locally on your machine; only the region you deliberately capture and, if you enable it, the transcribed interviewer audio leave the device.

Deciding whether to use it

Technical soundness and appropriateness are different questions, and this page only answers the first. Many assessments state their rules on assistance explicitly, and some employment agreements and university codes of conduct cover it too. Read what applies to you and make an informed decision. We would rather you understand exactly what the software does — including what it does not do — than rely on a promise nobody can keep.
